Before we jump right in, I figured it'd be useful just to kinda refresh ourselves on the main parts we're gonna need to flat tow our Buick down the road in the first place. First part will be the base plate, and that's gonna provide us with a solid and reliable connection point. That way we can hook our tow bar up to it. Tow bar'll be the second component. more

Hi there, vehicle owners! Today on your 2021 Buick Encore GX, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Direct-Connect Baseplate. And this is what our baseplate looks like when it's installed. Our attachment points do pass through the fascia but you can see that they're tucked back fairly nicely to where it really doesn't detract from the looks of the vehicle. And also if you we're walking by here in the front, there's really little chance you're gonna be hitting your shins on anything. The black powder coat finish helps it blend into the area on our grill here where it passes through. So all in all, I think it's a really good look at the front of our vehicle. more

Hi, there Buick owners. Today in your 2020 Buick Envision, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Blue Ox's base plate. There's five main components you'll need when flat-towing your vehicle behind your motor home, you'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle, you'll need your base plate, which is the connection point on your vehicle for your tow bar to attach to, you'll need your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar, your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them to the lights at the back of your vehicle, and lastly, your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes in the vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home to help it come to a safe stop. And this is what our base plate's going to look like when it's installed. The majority of our components are going to be hidden behind the fascia with just the attachment points sticking through. We've got our attachment points for the removable tabs where our base plate will hook up, our safety cable loops, we have our breakaway switch, which is attached to a mounting point on our base plate, we've got our wiring for our lighting system, and on the opposite side here, we have the safety cable and attachment point for our tow bar as well. Our base plate's custom fit for our Buick Envision, so it's going to bolt right up behind it.All the hardware you need to get it installed does come included. more

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2017 Buick Envision

Ryan: How's it going Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2017 Buick Envision, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit with removable arms. Now, right off the bat, our base plate is going to be somewhat visible because we do have to cut openings and our grill for all of our components to come through. But the upside to that, and one thing I like about this base plate is that it's already going to have bracketry pre-attached to set up our breakaway switch as well as our six way wiring. And that's really convenient because everything's going to look a lot more symmetrical and you're not going to have to worry about customizing bracketry to get everything mounted. Now, the purpose of the base plate is to provide us with a solid connection point. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2005 Buick Rendezvous

Today on our 2005 Buick Rendezvous we'll be installing the blue ox base plate kit with a removable arm. Part number bx1508. Now to begin our install we'll first need to remove the front fascia. To begin removing the front fascia we'll remove the 4 screws that secure the front grill. Once the screws are out of the way, we'll then open the hood and remove the 4 push-pin fasteners across the top of the grill. Next we'll need to remove the headlight assemblies. To remove the headlight assemblies, we'll first pull up on the plastic locking tab, that holds the headlight in position. Once we've unlocked that, we'll then remove the wingnut on the inner fender well. more

Today on this 2009 Buick Enclave we will be installing part number 523149-1 from Roadmaster. The first thing we need to do is get underneath the hood of the vehicle and remove some fasteners so we can remove the front fascia. There are 12 fasteners that need to be removed. To remove the rivet there is a dent inside here that you pop the screwdriver in and kind of pick up the middle part. Then you can use your rivet tool and just pull it out. These sunken rivets are a pain, just take your screwdriver and work your way around it. Then remove the engine cover. Now there is a Phillips screw, one on each side that we need to remove. :56 more
